Bridge of the World

Panama, known as the “Bridge of the World”, has been for centuries a meeting point between different cultures. Its history begins with indigenous civilizations such as the Kuna, Emberá and Ngäbe, which have left a legacy of traditions and art. With the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century, the country became a key gateway for global trade.

Panama today is a vibrant mix of indigenous, African, European and Asian influences. This diversity is reflected in its music, dances, cuisine and festivities. In addition, the country has preserved historic sites, such as the Ruins of Panama Viejo and Panama City’s Casco Antiguo, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
