Get to Know the Canal Watershed

Only 26 miles (42.1 km) from Tocumen International Airport, the Panama Canal is one of the most important maritime routes in the world, connecting the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. This engineering wonder is also one of the city’s main tourist attractions.

At the Miraflores Visitor Center, you can explore interactive exhibits on the history and operation of the Canal, and get an up-close look at the ships’ transit. Every day, between 32 and 33 vessels cross this waterway, totaling around 14,000 a year.
