Naso Tjër Di
The Naso Tjër Di people, the last remaining monarchy in the Americas, is located in the territory of the Palo Seco Forest Reserve and La Amistad International Park. Their community, which has protected these territories for centuries, offers the opportunity to meet the Naso King and explore his royal palace. Visitors can experience the wildlife through hiking and bird watching, as well as sailing in traditional rafts on the Teribe River. The Naso people also practice artisanal fishing and offer workshops on their medicinal rituals and cocoa planting. To get to the Naso comarca, you can take a car from the Changuinola airport to Bonllik, which is approximately a 30-minute drive. From Bonllik, the main means of transportation is the Teribe River. For a longer stay, some communities offer lodging in traditional huts, with prices ranging from US$18 to US$40 per night.
